These two prophecies set up for use in Song of Songs. First the rose. One of the prophecies attached to The Anointed can be found in Isaiah 35:1-2 Based on KJV).

The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, AND BLOSSOM AS THE ROSE. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the esteem of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the esteem of YHWH, and the excellency of Elohim.

In this prophecy it is obvious that the blossoming of the rose refers to The Messiah. Let’s confirm this by looking at commentary from the Geneva Study Bible.

The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. He (Isaiah) prophesizes of the full restoration of the Assemblies both of the Jews and Gentiles under The Messiah, which will be fully accomplished at the last day: although as yet it is compared to a desert and wilderness.

The Lilly of the Valley Messianic Prophecy

The Rose is not the only flower to symbolize The Messiah. Hosea 14 is another prophecy of The Messiah to come. Here it is in its entirety.

Israel Restored at Last – Hosea 14:5-7 (Based on KJV ADJ)

“I will be as the dew unto Israel: She shall grow as the lily, and cast forth Her roots as Lebanon. Her branches shall spread, and Her beauty shall be as the olive tree, and Her smell as Lebanon.

They that dwell under Her shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.”

Both the Rose of Sharon and Lily of the Valley prophecies are about The Messiah returning after the end times. These prophecies are brought together in the Song of Songs
